Delrose Club 2137 North Limestone Lexington, Kentucky This was a Private Club back in the 40's Only open on Sundays. Ira Delkin was the owner and got around the Kentucky Blue Law (No Business Open on Sunday) By charging each member the price of a case of beer as a membership fee. Then when the customer who had a key to the club came in, they were charged 25 cents (price of beer in those days) for keeping the beer on ice. Club had a large dance floor with a Jute-Box for music and sometimes a Live Band. There where 3 Slot Machines in a special room off to the right. Slot Machines were illegal in those days. |
